My name is Kimberly, I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I’m one of the lucky ones. Some people are naturally left-brained…..logical and technical with strong reasoning skills. Some people are naturally right-brained…..fanciful and emotive with imagination galore. Some people, the lucky ones, are blessed with both. I am blessed.
I work in the communications industry as an IT Senior Applications Analyst. That is my career. Painting is my passion.
As a child my mother always nudged me towards the arts, but did so in a way that never made me feel pressured. She recognized a talent and wished for me the same passion for art that she herself embraced. She wound up letting me kick the crayons to the curb to pursue life, knowing as mothers do, that my desire for creativity would eventually pull me back into the fold.
It worked.
I began dabbling in various mediums. Nothing grabbed me though, until the late 90’s. I had a bonus check burning a hole in my pocket and not a pressing bill in sight. “You know who” suggested I buy oil painting supplies. I did, and haven’t looked back since.
I paint from life, from photos, from my imagination, and sometimes from a combination of the three. My husband says that if you stand still in our household long enough it is inevitable that you will become the subject of one of my paintings.
I enjoy the challenge of portrait art, the accuracy of still life art, the playfulness of animal painting, and the freedom of landscaping. Most of all, I enjoy sharing my passion. I hope you enjoy it too.
